But he is Russian. Believe its all hes getting at. Now with that said. Could he play in the NHL this year? Or would he have to do military duty in Finland? What kind of citizen is he?

I want the Pred's to get Barkov so bad. It isnt even funny.

I got the exact opposite impression from MacT on Jones.

He wont be here next year, nor should he be. Should be fairly easy to get an upgrade for him. Also, I'm not convinced that Carolina doesnt take Nichushkin. If he, Barkov and Monahan are gone by pick 7 - oil should trade the pick.

For the record, if the teams ahead of you (hypothetically) pick who you say they will, there is almost no doubt in my mind the Oilers take either Darnell Nurse or Nikita Zadorov

Valeri Nichushkin still has 2 years on his KHL contract. Knowing how the KHL is, I doubt he comes over anytime before that is up. Will be a while before you see this kid in the NHL

Why would the flames or the hurricanes pass up on valeri nichushkin? And in my opinion lindholms a better choice then monahan.

I know what your saying. But I believe his parents are Russian. I think thats all Clouts is getting at. Just the fact that he is Russian heritage. Though he isnt the regular Russian.

i think oilers best move is to trade down a couple spots for a defensemen like nurse or zadorov

Regardless his parents are obviously finnish citizens and he has no ties to russian hockey.

He is not Russian. His farther was Russian, but he was born in Finland. And there is no mandatory military service.
